Cara Delevingne is paving the way for new British label Cécile to expand it’s horizon after boosting their image by wearing one of their t-shirts while out and about at Paris Fashion Week. Cécile was launched for spring/summer 2013 by a group of anonymous industry experts who decided to remain without identity so attention will be focused on the label rather than the designers who create the clothes.

The brand was launched to fill the gap in the market for a brand which created clothes which could be worn with a range of other wardrobe pieces, saying: “We felt that there was a need for the perfect T-shirt to wear under a Celine jacket or the statement sweatshirt with your favourite jeans,” one of the founders said. “We wanted to focus on our very European aesthetic, but keep it super affordable and great quality. Cécile is all about high impact T-shirts that enhance your best basics, high-end or high-street.”

They admitted to Vogue that this lucky endorsement by fashion’s “it-girl” couldn’t have come at a better time: “She’s amazing and we are thrilled that she is a fan of the brand. She was someone who was in our minds throughout designing the last collection, so her wearing Cécile is the perfect fit.”

Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Paris Fashion Week

#PFW: Louis Vuitton Autumn/Winter 2013-14 Collection Review + Photos

Designer Marc Jacobs made his third contribution to fashion month in Paris with his collection for French super-brand Louis Vuitton following exhibiting his Marc by Marc Jacobs and his mainline at New York Fashion Week.

Supermodel Kate Moss made her catwalk comeback at the show appearing during the finale. The models appeared in a faux corridor in threes premiering the collection. It was a erotic and gritty collection, and certainly had a bit of personality about it which some collections have lacked. Jacobs said backstage to Vogue: “Everything is about reaction, so we were thinking what we can do now after the geometry and no emotion of last season.” There was a theme of sinister foreboding and deep dirt-glam, helped by the palette of maroons, indigo and lilacs.

Brilliance shone through in the Hitchcock movie models and this well thought out collection from Jacobs. Take a look below. (CLICK for larger preview + slideshow).

Model and Vogue cover girl Cara Delevingne has trademarked her own name, allowing her to use it as a brand title should she ever want to expand into a design or production career. She registered it with Intellectual Property Office in December last year according to The Sunday Times, meaning she has exclusive rights over the use of it in any future endeavours. This prevents others releasing products such as perfumes, shoes or handbags with this labelling unless she chooses to do so herself.

The model has also registered her own company name, Cara & Co. in which her father, Charles Delevingne is co-director. The 20-year-old also has voiced interests in an interview with Vogue in releasing a line of onesies or a range of “simple, well-cut tops and t-shirts”.

Burberry, Christopher Bailey, London Fashion Week

#LFW: Burberry Prorsum A/W13-14 Show Report + Pictures

Christopher Bailey pulled out all the stops today to bring Burberry’s most innovative and adventurous show to date today during London Fashion Week with his collection entitled Trench Kisses. Bailey is a bottomless pit of new ideas and developments which he puts into play to reinvigorate the historic label’s image and scene.

Trench coats were crossed with glossy semi-transparent bronze material and metal collars taking a step into the future, with the sleek gloss and innovation. Leopard print was a big part of the show, hardly seen during the fashion weeks so far, being found in tops and skirts. The animal prints brought out Burberry’s wild side, often matched with their stunning see-through bronze material as pencil skirts, as seen on Cara Delevingne. Love heart print was also spotted, adding a cute statement to the clothing to not be taken as seriously as it appears.

Staying true to Burberry fashion, brown, caramel, maroon and biscuit colours were all used to keep the brand at it’s roots. Bailey’s twist and intention to blossom the brand’s image into one which can be invigorated and made more complex while remaining true to it’s traditional beginnings definitely struck gold with myself and attendees as one of Burberry’s best collections along with a highlight of London Fashion Week.
